The arrival window, counted from confirmation

The window is the stretch of time between a confirmed booking and her arrival at the door. In central Amsterdam it is forty to sixty minutes, and it is the same in every neighbourhood the house covers, whether you are in a small hotel on the western canals, a rented flat in De Pijp or an apartment near Vondelpark.

Where the clock starts

The count begins when the booking is confirmed in the thread, not when you send your first message. For a sightseer that distinction is useful. If you write from a café at four and ask for a start at seven, the confirmation is timed to the hour you asked for, and the window closes around seven. If you write from the room and want her as soon as possible, forty to sixty minutes from the confirmation is when to expect the knock.

What it does not depend on

The window does not stretch because a street is narrow or a building has no lift, and it does not shrink because your hotel is close to the station. It is a fixed figure for the whole central area, which makes it easy to plan a shower and a warm room around.
